بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ (1) ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ (2) لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ (3) وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ (4)
English Translation: Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the eternally Besought of all. He begetteth not nor was begotten. And there is none comparable unto Him.
ترجمہ -کہو کہ وہ (ذات پاک جس کا نام) الله (ہے) ایک ہےمعبود برحق جو بےنیاز ہے – نہ کسی کا باپ ہے اور نہ کسی کا بیٹا – اور کوئی اس کا ہمسر نہیں–

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: «أَيَعْجِزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ؟» فَشَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَقَالُوا: أَيُّنَا يُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ فَقَالَ: «اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الصَّمَدُ ثُلُثُ الْقُرْآنِ-
Narrated Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (RA): The Prophet (Peace Be upon him) said to his companions, “Is it difficult for any of you to recite one third of the Qur’an in one night?” This suggestion was difficult for them, so they said, “Who among us has the power to do so, O Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be upon him)?” Allah’s Messenger replied: ” ‘Allah (the) One, the Self-Sufficient Master Whom all creatures need’ (Surat Al-Ikhlas) is equal to one third of the Qur’an
صحابہ سے فرمایا: “کیا تم میں سے کوئی اس بات سے عاجز ہے کہ ایک رات میں قرآن کا ایک تہائی (ایک تہائی حصہ) پڑھ لے؟” صحابہ کرام کو یہ بات مشکل معلوم ہوئی اور انہوں نے عرض کیا: “یا رسول اللہ! ہم میں سے کون اس کی طاقت رکھتا ہے؟” تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: “(سورۃ) قل ہو اللہ احد (یعنی اللہ الواحد الصمد) قرآن کا ایک تہائی ہے۔

وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ رَجُلًا عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ، فَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ لِأَصْحَابِهِ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ فَيَخْتِمُ بِـ {قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ} فَلَمَّا رَجَعُوا ذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: «سُولُوهُ لِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ؟» فَسَأَلُوهُ، فَقَالَ: لِأَنَّهَا صِفَةُ الرَّحْمَنِ، فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ بِهَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَخْبِرُوهُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يُحِبُّهُ-
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کو ایک لشکر کا دستہ بنا کر روانہ کیا، وہ نماز میں اپنے ساتھیوں کو امامت کراتا اور قرات کے آخر میں “قل هو الله أحد” (سورۃ الاخلاص) پڑھتا۔ جب وہ واپس آئے تو انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کا ذکر کیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: “اس سے پوچھو کہ وہ ایسا کیوں کرتا ہے؟” انہوں نے اس سے پوچھا تو اس نے کہا: “کیونکہ یہ رحمان (اللہ) کی صفت ہے، اور مجھے اس کا پڑھنا پسند ہے۔” اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: “اسے بتا دو کہ اللہ تعالی اس سے محبت کرتا ہے
Hazrat Aaishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (Peace Be upon him) sent a man in charge of a military expedition who used to lead his companions in prayer, concluding his recitation with Surah Al-Ikhlas (“Say: He is Allah, the One”). Upon their return, they mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (Peace Be upon him), who said, “Ask him why he does that.” They asked him, and he replied, “Because it is an attribute of the Most Merciful, and I love to recite it.” The Messenger of Allah (Peace Be upon him) then said, “Inform him that Allah the Exalted loves him.
